We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader Rates. This role is responsible for leading the Rates Team to deliver the Council's land and water rates function and activities. As a leadership role within Whakatane District Council, you'll be passionate about developing and supporting your team whilst also being confident reviewing and developing rating policies, ensuring key deadlines are met and providing rating advice and guidance to the Executive Leadership Team.

We'll provide the support and professional development, you'll provide the skills.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience working within the Local Government (Rating) Act with a highly developed knowledge of this legislation and the functions of a Rates team
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for leading a team
  • A willingness to get stuck in to support your team and the wider organisation to achieve our rating priorities
  • A high level of assurance working within an organisation that has significant engagement with whānau, hapū and iwi
