Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About these role

We are embarking on a significant health and safety improvement programme and are currently looking for a Health & Safety Lead. The Health & Safety Lead will be a pivotal role in the implementation of our improvement programme and will work to build strong relationships across the organisation and increase the capability of our People Leaders. You'll ensure our people have the right information, knowledge and data to inform decisions and manage risk and you'll make sure we remain compliant with legislative requirements. You will provide expert advice and support in all health and safety matters.

In addition to the Health & Safety Lead role we also have opportunities for part-time, fixed term Health and Safety Business Partners to assist the Health and Safety Lead in the implementation of our new strategy.

The Health & Safety Lead reports to the Manager People & Capability so if you are applying for this role you'll be joining a fun, supportive and friendly team. The following key attributes will see you succeed in this role;

  • A natural ability to build strong collaborative relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in positively influencing behaviour change
  • A creative, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience working and partnering within a broad range of industries/ environments, including infrastructure
  • Strong experience in implementation and execution of Health and Safety frameworks
    • A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & safety
    • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a similar role
    • Experience and understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, Local Government Act 2002 and key Health Monitoring Acts and Regulations.

If you are interested in a part-time fixed term project opportunity as a Health and Safety Business Partner, you'll have sound health and safety experience, excellent interpersonal skills and a strong desire to contribute to process improvement.
