Are you an experienced leader with a passion for aquatic operations and water safety? We're looking for a dedicated Team Leader - Aquatics to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Whakatāne Aquatic Centre. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading a team, and is committed to delivering high-quality services to our community.

As the Team Leader - Aquatics, you'll be responsible for managing lifeguard staff, ensuring the facility operates efficiently, and upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service. You'll also play a key role in staff training, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives. If you have strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, we'd love to hear from you!

Ko wai koe | About you

You'll be joining a team that envisions being better together. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Current Lifeguard & First Aid Certifications (or the ability to obtain them)
  • Experience in aquatic facility operations, including pool water treatment and plant management
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with a focus on training and staff development
  • A high level of customer service commitment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in the aquatics industry
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts as needed.
  • You will be required to under go and pass a police vetting check and pre employment health and drug test.
