Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
As a Building Compliance Coordinator, your role is to support the building compliance functions within the Territorial Authority (TA) and the Building Control Authority (BCA), with a focus is on organizing, tracking, and facilitating compliance processes. In this role you will:
• Administer and maintain compliance schedules, BWoFs and pool barrier inspections, including preparing, issuing and updating compliance schedules, CPUs and associated documentation.
• Review and verify information from IQPs, designers and building owners to ensure accuracy and alignment with consent documentation and the Building Code.
• Provide clear and timely guidance on compliance processes to property owners, industry professionals and the public, referring more complex matters to the appropriate technical staff.
• Act as a first point of contact for compliance-related enquiries, supporting our commitment to high-quality customer service and contributing to the effective delivery of our regulatory programmes.
• Support our Technical Administration Team one day per week with documentation, system updates and general administrative tasks that assist the wider Building Consents team.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum of two years' experience in Local Government, with proficiency in using databases, GIS systems, and software such as AlphaOne, Ozone, and Microsoft Applications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- A solid understanding of quality assurance principles, policies, and office systems.
- High attention to detail and excellent time management skills, with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Ability to drive and influence decisions with confidence, acting with honesty, transparency, and empathy towards communities.
- Proven problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment and accountability.
