Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

As an integral member of the Open Spaces Team, you will provide professional booking services and high‑quality administrative support across the district's open spaces and facilities. This includes coordinating and managing all cemetery, crematorium, reserve and facility bookings, working closely with Funeral Directors, contractors, community users and members of the public. You will ensure all burial and cremation documentation is accurately completed and compliant with legislative and Council requirements, while maintaining precise records within Council systems.

You bring proven administrative experience, strong organisational skills and a high level of accuracy, ideally within a customer‑focused or service‑based environment. You are confident coordinating bookings and managing multiple priorities, and you approach sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism and respect, such as in cemetery and crematorium services.

You will bring:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in business administration.
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Superior written and oral communications skills.
  • High attention to detail, excellent time management and strong emphasis on accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Natural ability to be empathetic and respectful when communicating both internally and with people across our communities.
