Vision and Values – Te Matakitenga me ngā wāriutanga

In 2020, our staff identified a few areas the organisation could improve on – including a robust vision and set of values that we could all live by. Cue an eight-month project titled ‘People First’ that involved a staff-based advisory group, many hours of mahi and whakaaro, and input from across the business. After a few iterations, the final vision and values were adopted in late 2021.

Our vision and values underpin how we work and behave. They are demonstrated through our interactions with each other, our stakeholders and the communities we serve.

Our annual staff acknowledgement event, Kotahitanga, recognises those who have upheld the values and contributed above and beyond expectations. Our values also form the basis of the organisation’s performance management system, so we can ensure there is a level of accountability across all parts of the business.

These shared kaupapa are woven through our organisation and are at the heart of our of decision-making and actions. Because we are - better together.
