Senior Environmental Planner
Are you an experienced and dynamic planner with leadership qualities that will drive your team to succeed? Whakatane District Council seeks a Senior Environmental Planner to provide exceptional delivery across resource consent processes in its professional and motivated planning team.
Assisting the Manager Resource Consents, you will be responsible for the processing of resource consents in accordance with the District Plan and Resource Management Act. You will also provide positive leadership to your team members, and advice to internal and external customers. The ability to liaise effectively with consultants and commissioners, work independently, and have superb attention to detail are all requirements of this role.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant tertiary or industry qualification, have a minimum of four years' post-graduate experience and deliver outstanding customer service in this full-time, permanent position.
You will need:
- A four-year Bachelor degree in Resource Management or Planning
- Excellent time management skills and sound research methodologies
- A demonstrated ability to lead a team, and manage and mediate conflict situations
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
